Here's a bit of basic fitness advice that you must keep in mind whenever you undertake a new diet or training regime:

- Always warm up. Simply pace yourself up to the desired intensity you wish to achieve for the workout. There's no need to sprint as soon as you've put your trainers on. You will only cause injury to yourself.

- Always cool down. Gently stretch out your muscles after a workout. Stretch to the point of discomfort but not pain and hold your stretches for a good 10 to 15 seconds. This can help preventing body aches the next day.

- Avoid dehydration by drinking water before, during and after your workouts.

- Consult a physician first, if you a making a drastic change to your diet or lifestyle.

- Finally, always take care of yourself. Don't push yourself further than your limits. Only you know what feels normal with your body, so don't do anything stupid.
